Replacement tube bundles & retubing
The shell outlives the bundle. When tubes thin, leak or foul beyond cleaning, the economic repair is almost never a new exchanger — it is a new bundle in the shell you already have, or the existing bundle retubed.
What we supply
- Complete replacement tube bundles, built to fit an existing shell.
- Retubing of an existing bundle, reusing the tube sheets and baffles where they are sound.
- Tube sheets, baffles, tie rods and spacers as individual parts.
- New shell and tube exchangers where a replacement is the better call.
Tube-to-tube-sheet joints are expanded, welded, or both, according to the service and the specification the unit was built to. Which one your duty needs is part of the conversation, not an assumption.
What we need to quote it
A bundle is made to the shell it goes into, so the quotation follows the numbers rather than the model name. Send what you have — we will tell you what is missing.
The shell
Inside diameter, and whether the shell is being reused or replaced.
The tubes
Outside diameter, wall gauge, length, and how many.
The layout
Pitch and layout angle — triangular, rotated, square — and the number of tube passes.
The materials
Tube, tube sheet and baffle material, and any cladding or coating.
The service
What flows shell side and tube side, at what temperature and pressure. This decides the joint and the material as much as the geometry does.
The paperwork
A GA drawing or the original data sheet if you have one, and a photograph of the nameplate. Either settles most of the questions above at once.
